The starting rotation continues to keep our Reds under .500, but we believe in the lineup and hold onto hope that our real starting pitchers will one day make an appearance and save the season. We look back and talk about Gary Redus, start a new segment on explaining one of the fancy new metrics that have taken over baseball analysis and make a fearless prediction. Most importantly we learn the importance of batting .270.

We're a man down this week, but we muddle through without Tom kinda like the Reds are getting by without their best starters. Yes, we talk about Mike Lum, Wojo, Mesoraco and Arroyo's future. And we pick on Tom just because he wasn't here to defend himself.

Fresh off a downer weekend in San Francisco, the guys look hopefully toward three games at Wrigley followed by three games at home against the West-leading Rockies. They also look ahead to what the lineup and rotation might look like post-All-Star break with and without Cozart. And a little All-Star game voting talk even though Tom thinks ballots shouldn't be available till June 1. He's serious.

We talk about the shock of waking up in first place even though it's only May and probably won't last. But we're fans, so that's what we do. We come back to earth and discuss the starting rotation that will hold this club back, find out that Jeff's affinity for Schebler has a rival in Kim's fondness for the abilities of Scooter Gennett. And Tom answers last week's trivia question with a little help from his friends.
